Q&A #1: Prom, University Plans & Moving Countries?!

Hello everyone!
A few days ago, I asked you all to send in any questions you might have. The platform I use is, so if you have any questions that didn't get answered in this blog post, send them in to and I'll be sure to include them in my next post!

I don't really have favorite bloggers. If I had to choose it would be Freddy Cousin Brown and Aurora Mohn. For Youtubers it'd have to be Nazanin Kavari, Nathalie Paris and Eva Marisol!

In my free time I usually hang out with my friends, watch series, go shopping. I also like exploring and writing.

For high-end makeup brands I will always go with Urban Decay and MAC. Drugstore makeup brands include Maybelline, Makeup Revolution and Essence.

I love traveling so much and each of the countries that I have visited all had something different to offer! I really liked visiting Croatia because it is so beautiful. I went 6 years ago in the summer of 2010 and it is still one of my most memorable holidays The beaches were amazing! Another country I really liked was Switzerland.

I definitely think you need to like the cold/wintery atmosphere if you move to Holland, or at least you need to be willing to adapt to it because it's constantly cold and rainy. I love staying here though, despite not initially wanting to move. There are so many wonderful people, it is safe and it's super easy to visit other cities or countries via trains.

I attend a private international school. I like it but my school is incredibly small which means that you know everyone and everyone knows you. I only have 10 people in my grade/year!

For sure Tumblr, WeHeartIt, Pinterest, Kayla Itsine's SWEAT app, SnapChat, MakeupSocial and the NikiAndGabi App.

Not at all! I get this question so often because my hair is always straight. I prefer having my hair straightened/blow-dried because it is a lot easier to manage and style. I usually straighten my hair on a Sunday and it will last me about a Wednesday, maybe even Thursday,  because my hair doesn't get greasy quickly so it works for me. Aside from that, I've been wearing my hair in its natural curly state a lot recently because I know how important it is to take breaks from heat/styling tools!

I have been planning a lot of collabs this past month. I have other beauty and lifestyle bloggers as well as a makeup artist who I will be working with!
There's Francoise who I already did a collab with last december. Rebecca who participated in my Beauty Blogger Tag, Lily who tagged me in her Christmas Tag last year, Isabel who I just recently met and will be doing a collab with soon and last but definitely not least, Kerrie who I am also planning a beauty and lifestyle post with!

I have visited Hong Kong, Singapore, Dubai, The Netherlands (before I moved), Namibia, Thailand, Croatia, France, Italy, Germany, Austria, Switzerland and Costa Rica.

Probably how people always assume stuff without knowing the full story - but that is every high school so I guess you can't do much about it.

Thank you so much!

It depends where I get accepted for University! I'm hoping to stay in Holland though, if not I will (hopefully) be studying abroad.

I have a collab planned for Valentine's Day! That's all I can say now, as I can't give too much away!

I want to study Journalism and Communication/Mass Media!
My dream is to be a Magazine Editor and continue with writing, whether that is print or digital. Another option is to go into marketing/advertising.

I haven't decided yet! The thing is, my school is incredibly small as I mentioned earlier so our school has prom for grades 9 - 12 every single year. By the time you get to grade 12, it isn't as special anymore. Sure it's your last one, but at an International School every year could consist of lasts because people are always moving. If I do decide to go, I'll post a GRWM (Get Ready With Me video) and footage of the prom!

Thanks so much for sending all of your questions in. If you have anything you'd like to ask me, send them in

December/January Beauty Haul

Hello everyone! So today's post is a look at a few beauty items I have recently purchased over the holidays. Some of these products I bought when it was CyberMonday, but decided to keep when I had all my other products as I figured it would be cool to do a collective haul! I have a few products, so let's just get into it!

1. The Maybelline 'Nudes' Palette.
I decided to purchase this palette because it was literally everywhere when it first came out.  Youtubers were raving about it, people were comparing it to Urban Decay's Naked 3 - the hype was insane! I will be doing a review and swatches on this and you can be the judge. All I can say for now is that it is super good quality and highly pigmented - perfect for day or night makeup looks.

2. The Maybelline 'Blushed Nudes' Palette.
As many of you may already know, I love my neutral colours. When The Nudes by Maybelline came out, I immediately fell in love. There are 12 gorgeous colours, a variety of matte and shimmer, as well as cool and warm tones. I don't buy Maybelling products often, but I've been loving their eyeshadows and Colour Tattoos.

3. The Real Techniques 'Core Collection' Brush Set.

This brush collection is actually two sets. The first is the Travel Kit, which consists of a powder brush, detail brush (for applying highlighter under your brow bone and inner corners as well as for smoking out eyeshadow), setting brush (powder over concealer or baking) and blush brush (which you can also contour with). The fifth brush I bought separately and it is the Expert Face Brush that is perfect for liquid foundation.

4. Catrice Illuminating Highlighter Pen
Unfortunately this photo does not do it any justice, but this product is amazing! I love using this to highlight as it's a wind-up pen, so the product comes out of a little brush which you just 'paint' on your face. It gives me the cutest lil glow without the glitter that most highlighters come with. An added bonus is that it is a liquid formula and stays on all day!

7. The Revlon ColourStay Foundation in 'Toast'
This is my winter foundation and it matches my skin perfectly. It offers medium to full coverage, but it is very buildable. Because it is mattifying, I don't need a setting powder. I like it because it gives a very soft, natural finish.

8. The LA Girl Glazed Lip Paint in 'Pin Up'
I am most definitely not a lip gloss person - I prefer matte makeup products. I swatched this in the store when I purchased the LA Girl Liquid lipsticks, and I quite liked it. When applied, the lip gloss is very shiny. It also feels tingly and tastes sort of minty (???)
Once again, a huge step outside of my comfort zone, but it looks really good with neutral eye makeup.

9. Wet  n Wild Lipstick in 'Sandstorm'
I've been looking for a good quality drugstore lipstick and I was super happy when I found this gem. It is in the shade 'Sand Storm' and it's a gorgeous red-brick colour that is a very creamy formula. As far as dupes are concerned, this is close enough to MAC's Del Rio.

10. MUA Brow Define Eyebrow Gel in 'Dark'
You may recognize this product from one of my monthly favourites. It is a repurchase as I love how easy it is to work with an eyebrow gel instead of an eyebrow powder. I'd say less is more when it comes to working with liquids and gels as sometimes they stain easily. This product is great as its not too pigmented, so it leaves a very natural finish. The applicator (a spoolie) also allows for precise application.

11. Hema Wet & Dry Eyeshadow
My mom actually got this eyeshadow for me, as once again, I love neutrals. This trio consists of a champagne colour, light brown and a dark brown. Perfect for highlighting, an all over lid colour and a crease colour !This is very shimmery, so I prefer to use it for night looks.

12. Essence Lipliner in 'Soft Berries'
Out of all the drugstore lipliners that I have tried, the ones from Essence are definitely my favorite because of the pigmentation. This one is in the shade 'Soft Berries' and works well with Wet n Wild's Sand Storm. It has a very creamy formula and is quite pigmented. The only con is that it isn't very long lasting and you have to do multiple touchups throughout the day.

13. Stila Baked Trio Eyeshadow
Probably my favourite product out of my haul as I've been wanting this eyeshadow for ages now! The packaging reads 'Eye Shadow Trio: Bronze Glow' This trio is so amazing. It has a subtle shimmer to it, but the colours are neutral and so long lasting! I love Stila products and this one will definitely be a repurchase!

14. NYC Smooch Proof Liquid LipStain in 'On Everybody's Lips'
You may remember this product from a few months back. It is another repurchase. It dries matte very quickly and the colour is to die for. The only con is that it isn't as long lasting as I'd like it to be.

15. LA Girl Flat Finish Pigment Glosses
You can probably tell I love liquid lipsticks. I recently wrote a review about these products from LA Girl which you can read here

That's it for my most recent haul. I apologize for the quality of some of the photos! Unfortunately the camera I usually use was nowhere to be found. I hope you enjoyed this blog post. Let me know if you've ever tried any of these out before, or if you'd purchase them!

Review: LA Girl Matte Flat Finish Pigment Glosses

Welcome back to my blog everyone! Today's post is a review on four of LA Girl's Matte Flat Finish Pigment Glosses. Essentially, they are liquid lipsticks. This means that they apply like a gloss but they dry in a lipstick form.  So many beauty bloggers have hyped about LA Girl, especially the LA Girl Nudes Palette, so I was incredibly curious to learn more about this brand. Since I already have a lot of neutral palettes, I decided to venture out of my comfort zone and lean towards lip products.

I was pleasantly surprised when I swatched a few colours in the store and they stayed on my hand the whole day! (I tend to do that before I purchase a product as I prefer to 'test' them out like that before buying the product as I truly believe in the "quality is better than quantity'' statement) When I noticed how pigmented and long-lasting they were, I headed back and purchased four products! I found all four of these colours to dry very quickly, however I am not a fan of the applicator as I prefer it to be angled for precise application.

The first colour I decided to pick up is a light coral/brown colour in the shade 'Fleur'. The second product I purchased is a dark pink Pigment Gloss in the shade 'Bazaar'. As you can see this one is quite pink, a colour I usually avoid, but I love this one! I think that this colour is especially pretty to wear in the summertime. The next gloss is a fire-engine colour in the shade 'Frisky.' This is perfect for that bold statement which I know many people like to make. If you're like me and like a red lip that is long lasting, this is the product for you. Lastly, I bought a dark purple Pigment Gloss in the shade 'Rebel.' This one is a bit more up my alley as I have really been loving a dark lip lately. It's gorgeous for fall and winter. This is my second favourite shade ('Fleur' being my favourite) because it's quite edgy and almost vampy.

I am honestly so impressed with the quality and packaging of the products. They haven't cracked or chipped even when I eat or drink, nor do my lips feel dry after I use them and the fact that these are liquid lipsticks mean that you wouldn't need to reapply or even do any touchups! The only cons I can think of are a) as mentioned before, the applicator and b) the fact that they can be difficult to remove, especially the red/pink shades! However, since they are made to be long-lasting, I can live with that and I would still definitely recommend these products to anyone who wants to try out a liquid lipstick. They don't smudge or stain easily. Aside from the Kat Von D liquid lipsticks, the LA Girl Matte Flat Finish Pigment Glosses are honestly my favourite.  Let me know if you've tried out any of LA Girl's products, and which are your favourite liquid lipsticks to use!

The Body Shop: Tea Tree Products Review ♡

Hello everyone!  Firstly, welcome back to my blog. I am aware I haven't been posting for ages, but that's because I recently went on holiday to South Africa. Secondly, I'm really excited to write today's blog post, as it is a review about three products from The Body Shop's Tea Tree Range which I have been using a lotI love the fact that it is organic and also contain tea tree oil in it. For those of you who are unsure about tea tree oil is/what it does, tea tree oil is an essential oil with multiple uses, one that aids in killing bacteria therefore helping to keep your skin clean and clear!
These three products all come in very sturdy, clear plastic packaging. As you can see, the toner and body wash are in bottles contains 250ml, while the exfoliating scrub is in more of a tube-like container which holds 100ml of this organic goodness!

The Tea Tree Body Wash
The tea tree body wash is an absolute must in my skincare routine! I generally squeeze a little bit out of the bottle, lather and apply to my body using a loofah. Although I have generally very clear skin, I like to lather this product all over my body to keep my skin clean and refreshed.

The Tea Tree Squeaky Clean Scrub
I love organic exfoliators, which is the reason why I decided to try out this one from The Body Shop. The label says that the product 'unclogs pores without over-drying the skin', something I need from time to time. Most exfoliating products that I have tried out tend to leave my skin feeling very dry or tight afterwards, but not this scrub. Instead, the microbeads help to shed dead skin cells, resulting in a visibly healthy glow and softer skin. I would even go as far as to say that I prefer this product over a face mask, hands down!

The Tea Tree Toner

I would have to say that the tea tree toner is my favourite out of these three products. Since my skin can get very oily, this toner helps to keep excess sebum (oil) in check as well as keep my skin clean. I like to apply this using a cotton round and wiping my face with it after I have used the Squeaky Clean Scrub, which I find it works best with! As described on the bottle, this toner is suitable for blemished skin and helps to keep skin mattified, which is great if you have an oily skin like I do.

I hope you enjoyed my review! Let me know in the comments if you've ever tried these any of these products and what you think of them!
